There, an experienced Whitetail Club Adventure Leader will await you with a personal fleet of mountain bikes, allowing you to wind your way through the park’s scenic trail system, ending on the beach for a prepared lunch, complete with all the trimmings of a fine picnic.

Snowmobile to Burgdorf

With miles of groomed trails and acres of fresh powder, throw on your warmest coat and take an exhilarating expedition snowmobiling with an experienced rider through the National Forest lands to Burgdorf Hot Springs. Nestled in the mountains of Payette National Forest, 32 miles north of McCall, Idaho, this rustic and historic hot spring with roaring temperatures of 110-115ºF keeps you toasty from the frighteningly freezing temperatures. This is an adventure the entire family can participate in, with small children doubling with an adult! Get ready to venture off into the McCall backcountry.

Backcountry Skiing

If “off the beaten path” is a common part of your vernacular, then this full-day excursion is perfect for you. Enjoy a full day of backcountry skiing on the steep and deep slopes of Lick Creek summit. With over 30,000 acres of untracked powder, this is the place to venture into the unknown. The backcountry ski excursion includes touring gear, food, and beverages to replenish your energy. Expert personal guides with local knowledge and experience will guide your efforts and get you to nearby yurts for a needed respite. Snowmobiles will transport you and your gear to the yurts, where the downhill adventure begins!

Whitewater Rafting

If you’re looking to crash through some rapids to welcome the spring season, look no further than a whitewater rafting adventure when the water is high and the adrenaline is pumping. Not for the faint of heart, this full day on the Main Fork of the Salmon River will plunge through Class IV and V rapids with some headwaters reaching over 20′ during high runoff. You’ll take a break on one of the Salmon’s pristine white sand beaches around lunchtime for a gourmet meal prepared by your guides and take some time to relax and recharge. Between the fun-filled rapids, you’ll gain some historical knowledge as you float by historic mining operations, early housing developments from over a century ago, and more Idaho features.

Morel Hunt

Spend a day expanding your knowledge of an often elusive yet highly sought-after treat, the McCall Morel mushroom. You’ll start the morning with an exploratory class led by a Southern Idaho Mycological Association member covering the basics of mushroom types, where to find them, and other basic information and precautions. You’ll then head out into the woods to put your newly acquired mushroom know-how to the test. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the woods and return to Shore Lodge to explore the day’s findings and the collected mushrooms. You’ll also hear a bit from our executive chef, who will offer culinary advice on preparing and enjoying your mushrooms and send you home with delicious morel mushroom recipes.

Backcountry Breakfast Flight

Take a sightseeing tour of the area by air and have a bird’s eye view of the land we call our “backyard.” You may even get ideas of where you might like to go on another adventure by seeing from the sky the different river canyons, ridges, and valleys that make up McCall’s outdoor destinations. Arrive in Sulphur Creek for a backcountry breakfast in a fantastic setting before returning to the air for the flight back to Long Valley.
