River Rafting In Idaho
As any whitewater enthusiast will tell you, River Rafting in Idaho features some of the best rafting and kayaking anywhere. The McCall area is centrally located with access to three different river systems, so it’s easy to find an appropriate run for paddlers of every skill level.
Beginners might be most comfortable on the slower-moving Main Payette River, good for wading and tubing, while intermediate and advanced adventurers will want to try the “River of No Return,” the Salmon River, whose middle fork was ranked by National Geographic as the number three whitewater site in the entire world. And don’t forget the Snake River’s forebodingly-named “Hells Canyon,” where you might see eagles, hawks, elk, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep — assuming you have a chance to look up from the intense Class IV rapids.
