In our last blog, we covered all the exciting and relaxing ways Whitetail Club members enjoy their summers in McCall on land. Now we’ll go over some of the best experiences to be had on the water, from Payette Lake to hot springs and hot tubs.
Whitetail Club members have the unique luxury of being front and center to the gem of McCall, Idaho – Payette Lake. The new lakefront clubhouse lets members get closer than ever with direct access, while the Boathouse provides all the non-motorized vessels and grab-and-go food options for a perfect day on the beach. The private beachfront offers an opportunity to lay out and laze the day away in the sun, while the proximity to the clubhouse bar means you can do so with an expertly-crafted drink in hand.
Whitetail Club members also have preferred access to Shore Lodge’s 3,500-sqaure feet of lakefront property, which includes a sandy beach, water trampoline, lakeside swimming pool and full-service marina. Additionally, members can enjoy preferred boat slip rentals.
A 32′ double decker pontoon boat with twin 300 horsepower outboards and a water slide, this luxurious boat also features an excellent sound system and the capability of towing a tube or water skier for all your entertainment needs.
The Private Dancer
This torpedo-shaped, completely wooden 1996 Stan Craft is guaranteed to turn heads with its unique look and twin 350 horsepower engines, and perfectly lends itself to an elegant cocktail cruise aboard while comfortably entertaining up to three couples at a time.
Members can charter a cruise on our classic 1958 32′ Chris-Craft and enjoy a front seat for the best view of Payette Lake. The Cutwater was made for fun and relaxation with a spacious cabin, comfortable seating, advanced stereo system and dive-worthy platform. And to top it off, catering options and to-go menus are available for members to enjoy while a knowledgeable professional captains their cruise.
For a big thrill, two 24′ Manitou Encore high performance, luxury pontoons are available for charter or rent. These twin crafts provide the speed necessary for wake boarding, water skiing and tubing. Best of all, there’s no need to BYO-Board since the marina and Boathouse have everything needed to get these adventures underway.
Super Air Nautique 210
And for those seeking an even bigger thrill, the Super Air Nautique 210 is the top of the line wake surf, wakeboard and waterskiing boat, accommodating up to 12 people.
Of course, we understand that some members prefer to make smaller waves, which is why they’ll find a selection of kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards and a paddle boat at the Boathouse.
For a more low-keyed day on the water, members can head for a soothing soak at to our year-round heated saltwater pools at the Fish & Swim Club, our lounge in the clubhouse’s two cascading hot tubs.
While there are countless adventures to be had on premise, the wonder that is McCall, Idaho demands to be explored. Here are just a few of the water-based activities to be found.
White Water Rafting
Did you know that Idaho is known as the Whitewater State? Here in McCall, you can get your white-knuckle thrill with white water rafting on the Salmon River or Payette River.
If your idea of a perfect getaway involves fishing, then you’ve arrived at the right spot! There are a number of places for members to cast their reel, from Goose Lake (15mi), where visitors can find brook trout, cutthroat trout and rainbow trout by casting from a float tube, to a day trip to Fischer Pond’s family friendly terrain (40mi). Those looking for the road less traveled can drive 27 miles and trek the narrow gravel road to Hazard Lake, or bring home a brag-worthy story with Louie Lake’s trophy cutthroat trout (40mi). Additionally, members can fish right on property at Whitetail Club’s trout pond, which is always fully stocked for the summer.
Few things are as instantly gratifying as a soothing, hot soak. Idaho has the most usable hot springs in the nation, with approximately 130 ‘soakable’ hot spots. Two of the nearest — and dearest — hot springs are Gold Fork Hot Springs, located 24 miles to the south, and Burgdorf a “worth-it” 30 miles to the north.
We hope this series featuring are some of our favorite ways to indulge in Whitetail Club’s summer season helps you envision our life here, and we’d love to share it all with you.
